About SPARKk
Started by high schoolers. Taught in public libraries.
We had questions about AI that no class in school was answering. So we made the class.
SPARKk is a free STEAM education initiative covering science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, taught by students at public libraries.
Every class is designed and delivered by student volunteers who believe knowledge should be shared, not sold. We partner with public libraries because they are the most equitable institutions in any community: open to everyone, free to use, and rooted in the idea that learning is a right.
How we got here
Summer 2025
SPARKk launches its first classes at local libraries in North Wales, PA.
Fall 2025
More students join as teachers, each bringing a subject they already know well.
Winter 2025
The team plans a wider curriculum across the STEAM subjects, a growing teacher roster, and a platform built to run it.
January 2026
SPARKk relaunches with multi-track classes at libraries across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland.
Dates before January 2026 are recorded from our own notes — those classes predate this platform.

Student-teachers run every chapter at their local public library.
